The Ferry

The Ferry is a planned weekly free crossing: once $DANAKE exists, protocol fees fund one Fare per week on a dead token chosen by stakers.

Status

The Ferry is not live. Voting opens when $DANAKE launches. The app shows a read-only preview at /app/ferry.

What it is#

Most Fares are opened by a project that wants a specific community. The Ferry is the protocol's own Fare. Each week, part of the fees collected from all Fares funds one crossing to a dead token, at no cost to anyone who crosses. Holders of the chosen token are paid for their proven loss like in any other Fare.

Where the money comes from#

3% of every Fare budget goes to the fee vault. Once $DANAKE exists, the plan is that these fees buy $DANAKE on the market; half is burned, and half funds the Ferry. See $DANAKE token. Today the fee vault only holds fees; it has no withdrawal function.

Eligibility#

A token can be a Ferry candidate if:

  • it is dead under the dead-token rules;
  • its Roll can be rebuilt from public logs (a launchpad whose trades the Roll reads);
  • it has at least one wallet with a proven loss.

Snapshot before the vote#

The snapshot of each candidate's Roll is fixed before voting opens. Buying a dead token during the vote therefore adds nothing: purchases after the snapshot are not in the Roll. The Roll of each candidate can be checked like any other.

Who chooses#

Stakers of $DANAKE choose the week's token. The voting rules will be published with the token. Nothing about them is final.

The preview today#

/app/ferry lists the dead tokens of the testnet launchpad, ranked by the number of distinct wallets that bought on their curve, then by total proven loss. These figures come from the Roll of each token at the latest block. The vote button is locked.
